Twitter Defies Traditional Model

Defying the traditional model for Web technology the popularity of Twitter is driven by adults, not teenagers and college students as is the norm. According to an article published by the New York Times the majority demographic for Twitter users is older adults. This is not the first time adults have driven the success of many popular Web services – YouTube, blogging, and LinkedIn all were made popular by older users before adoption by the teenage crowd.

What Does This Mean for Dealers?

Your target audience uses Twitter! Twitter is not just ’some trend popular with the kids’ but is in fact a platform adopted by an ever increasing number of adults, many of whom use the service to gather information about people, companies, products, and brands that interest them.
